For a Clean Future
Combined Heat and Power Plant at the Heart of Our Energy Supply
Since 2017, we have operated a state-of-the-art combined heat and power plant that saves up to 700 metric tons of CO₂ each year. This is complemented by measures to reduce gas consumption, which fell by 15% per bottle of ketchup produced between 2020 and 2022. With this strategy, we strengthen our energy independence and actively contribute to the energy transition.
Energy Efficiency That Makes a Difference
We have made significant progress in production through targeted measures. In 2023, we upgraded our pumping station – a project that alone saves 30,000 kWh of energy per year. This not only improves the efficiency of our systems but also makes an important contribution to achieving our sustainability goals and reducing our environmental footprint.
LEDs That Make a Difference – Indoors and Out
In 2024, we converted all lighting in our cold storage facility to modern LED technology. This reduced energy consumption per operating hour by around 84%. With approximately 2,500 operating hours per year, this amounts to savings of 16,750 kWh. The new lighting not only improves energy efficiency but also makes an important contribution to our sustainability goals. Another example of how we reduce our environmental footprint through carefully considered measures.
In 2024, we also converted our street lighting to modern LED technology – another step toward energy efficiency. This reduced energy consumption per operating hour by around 68%. With around 2,500 operating hours per year, this corresponds to savings of 4,675 kWh annually. The measure not only improves the sustainability of our outdoor lighting but is already showing measurable positive effects shortly after implementation.
Looking Ahead with Photovoltaics & Optimization
We are currently making targeted investments in photovoltaic systems at our site to optimize our energy mix. One of the key projects is the PV system for several of our buildings. The expected savings: around 470,411 kWh of electricity per year. With carefully planned implementation and a clear focus on efficiency and sustainability, we actively contribute to climate protection and strengthen our commitment to a green future.
Our current measures to optimize machinery and equipment are being implemented and are already showing initial positive effects. As part of a comprehensive energy-saving project, we have begun decommissioning an outdated system, among other measures – with projected savings of 22,968 kWh per year. These steps not only help reduce operating costs but also noticeably improve our environmental performance. Through careful planning, we ensure that our production processes continue to run smoothly and efficiently.
